N: The Napoleonic Wars is a high level, grand strategic solitaire game on the turbulent decades from 1792 to 1815, when Europe was convulsed by the French Revolution and the wars of French Emperor Napoléon I. You play the monarchist “coalitions” of Europe – led by Britain – fighting to put down the ‘Corsican ogre’ and restore peace, order, and a bit of the Divine Right of Kings to the Continent. N is not a detailed, tactical historical simulation, but is designed as a fun, challenging game illustrating the general course of the wars and their salient historical themes. N is the second title in my British Wars Trilogy, and is based on Don’t Tread on Me, my game of the American Revolution (White Dog Games, 2014/15). If you have played DTOM, then many of N’s mechanics will be familiar. Each of the 16 Turns takes about 10 minutes to play (longer for beginners). There are two shorter scenarios (see other booklet) if you don’t want to fight out the entire three-decade grand campaign.
- R. Ben Madison, from the N Rule Book
"N is wild and turbulent much like the period. Beating Napoleon will feel like a real achievement. The game itself is an achievement and deserves a wide audience. "

"Highly recommend this game, because it well captures the sweep, color and drama of the Napoleonic period."

"So one rainy Saturday morning I decided to print this thing out and give it a play. And boy am I glad that I did!...This is a fantastic little solo game...If you’re a fan of Napoleonics and grand strategy games which focus as much on the politics as the actual fighting, then you should try this game out. If you’re new to wargames but are interested in history, this might also be a game for you since the rules are fairly straightforward and well written. If you’re looking for detailed tactical manoeuvring of your armies as they march across Europe, perhaps you’re better off looking elsewhere. But consider that at the end of the day, N tells a great story and is a great experience overall."

"Nice little game with a well thought-through and play tested system, overall realistic results and funny features such as the 1805 scenario starting with Napoleon and Josephine in bed..."- Dr Richter
